To accomplish our purpose we need volunteers with various skills and the willingness to develop those known or unknown skills. By nurturing these skills and growing in our vision through prayer and study, we hope to achieve the following while encouraged by one of our guiding Scripture references: II Cor. 2:14,15: to encourage reading in general; to provide parishioners with tools that help them live for Christ in their community; to assist lay leaders with resource material such as curriculums, etc.; to house old classics and current material; to provide positive reading experiences for children; to provide adults with leisure reading as well as resource material for personal growth study; to provide a quiet place for adults to read, meditate, spend quality time while waiting for children in some other activity; to provide multi-media resources and to become a central catalogue of all resources within the church. Pre-Marriage Prep prepares couples for a solid, Christian marriage and helps coordinate wedding services. St Stephens performs weddings for members of the parish only, but our 8week classes for pre-marriage preparation are open to any couple planning to be married. The classes are held twice a year (winter/spring and fall) and correspond with our new member class (101) During the prep course, the clergy and mentor couples will work with the class through issues such as communication, resolving conflicts, finances, intimacy and rolls and responsibilities in marriage.

Once a couple has been approved for marriage by the clergy we work with the couple to plan a Christ-Centered worship service for their wedding day. Are you looking for pre-marriage prep or do you want to join our team? … call Buffy Abbott for more info.
