Small Groups are not just a ministry of
St. Stephen’s, they are HOW we DO ministry at St. Stephen’s! If you call St. Stephen’s your church home and you are not in a Small Group, what are you waiting for?

Small Groups are where we experience life in Christ together. In these small circles we pray & study God’s Word, we serve & minister to each other, and we serve and minister to those around us in our community. We also build Christ-centered friendships and have fun together! In a world of disconnect, Small Groups provide real, authentic community. This is what Jesus modeled for us throughout his ministry – experiencing life with a small group of friends.

Some folks choose to be in a small group near their home. Others give a higher priority to the age of those in the group. We have some who want a group where children are welcome and provision is made for their care during the meeting. Some of our small groups (like the Men’s Monday Bible Study) are formed around a ministry. You do not have to be a member of St. Stephen’s to be a part of a small group.
In fact, small group membership is one of the things those considering membership in St. Stephen’s sometimes use to help them decide. The options are many! What’s missing is YOU!

Join a Small Group
If you are interested in joining a Small Group, contact Diane Gulish at the church and she’ll help with your search (412-741-1790 x119 or groups@ststephenschurch.net). We’ll do our best to find a group that meets your particular needs and interests. Please feel free to try out a few groups – we want you to find the one that fits you!

Host a Small Group
In addition to connecting within the church, we have the opportunity, through Small Groups, to connect those around us with the Savior of the world and we can watch “God-Changed Lives” unfold right before our eyes. It is our hope that our Small Groups will extend far beyond the walls of St. Stephen’s and stretch into YOUR neighborhoods and circles of friends. If you are interested in Hosting a Small Group, we would love to come alongside you and support you with anything you need. All you need is an open heart and an open home. Contact Diane Gulish (groups@ststephenschurch.net) to let her know that you are interested!

Circles of Care and Growth
Small groups are a wonderful place to experience care and growth. In a large church like St. Stephen’s, smaller circles present a healthy atmosphere for spiritual growth and accountability. Small Groups also provide a safe, confidential place for pastoral care for personal or private needs through prayer, encouragement, and physical & emotional support. The small group leader uses direct access to the Director of Pastoral Care and the Clergy when Small Group pastoral care needs dictate a high level of pastoral attention to the needs of an individual.
