November Newsletter

“Advent” comes from the Latin adventus, which means “coming.”

It is the time of year we remember Jesus’ first coming (and look ahead to the second one!). Advent is also the start of the church year, which allows us to walk through the phases of Jesus’ life on earth as we move through our seasons). Around the St. Stephen's, you’ll notice that we light Advent candles and sing songs that reflect the season. The vestments will change from green to royal blue as we look for our returning king.

Special services will include the Christmas Pageant (Dec. 6 & 7) and Lessons & Carols (Dec. 14). We’ll also begin a sermon series called “Advent: Good News of Great Joy.”

Please join us this Advent as we prepare to celebrate the arrival of Jesus, our King, who came to set captives free. For more information on our Advent events click here
