Maundy Thursday
Join us for our traditional Maundy Thursday meal of Lamb Stew (or a kid’s meal) and a special production of “Portraits of the Passion” and Communion service. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM and the Communion service begins at 7:15 PM. Cost is $5 per adult, $2 per child OR $20 max per family.
Sign-ups for Maundy Thursday dinner are at the information table. And we’re looking for volunteers for meal prep too!
Good Friday
This year our Good Friday service will again extend from 12 Noon to 3 PM, the hours Jesus suffered on the cross.
We will break the service into three one-hour portions, with each hour featuring a sermon, a special set of prayers, congregational hymnody, selections of scripture, meditations from the “Stations of the Cross”, and a choral/orchestra presentation from a classical Requiem Mass. Many composers over the centuries have written music to the “Requiem Mass”. Few have captured the emotion and pathos of the cross as Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Faure’, and John Rutter.
Selections from these three will be featured on this special day.
